It's a Brave one
I just got around to seeing Disney•Pixar's Brave this evening and was very impressed. It wasn't because I went in with low expectations, but rather that I found it to be a wonderful film to begin the summer with; I would even say that it was tied with The Avengers for my favorite film this year. This one is deserving of the number-one box office as well, which is not what I could say for others like Prometheus.
I'm not going to say anything that'll reveal the plot because you should go see this picture for yourself and then discover what its fate is. I will say, however, that I really enjoyed the humor throughout Brave and found it to be very nicely polished. The animation was beautiful, fully capturing Scotland and even though some elements of the film seem like they may suggest a different path for Pixar all of the sudden, I think it's a good bit of diversity. They clearly spent some time making what could have been a tarnished relic into a crown jewel.
Well done, all you at Disney and Pixar!
