'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship' is questionable for Doctor Who
Warning: spoilers ahead.
Yesterday evening, I watched the second episode in the current Doctor Who series; I jotted down my thoughts on the first last week. It wasn't quite what I'd expected and it seems like The Doctor's personality is changing a bit. For one thing, how could he just kill Solomon? The Doctor doesn't kill people; he avoids weapons often and above all, saves the world and and inhabitants of the universe that aren't villains. Solomon was not so much a villain as a crazy old man. This still didn't justify his death. Such an action from The Doctor makes things interesting and, while unexpected, is an intriguing, premature change.
Other than that, the humor in this episode was great. The story was all right, but I'm still wondering what happened to River Song. Did she vaporize? I know she's in prison, but it's his wife, so why not visit her? Would The Doctor instead prefer to be out and about with Queen Nefertiti? That, combined with the drama between Amy and Rory Williams made this season confusing from the start. Not only is there a new Doctor, but also refreshed companions as well. In fact, there's supposed to be an entirely new companion toward the end of this series, yet she made an appearance in the premiere. It's as if the writer is not sure what he wants to do yet.
