Forismatic for Mac wants to inspire you
I was browsing the App Store today and came across Coppertino's Forismatic, a free app that aims to mend the "lack of inspiration in your life". The menu bar app has three simple functions: to inspire you, to spark an idea in that brilliant mind of yours, and to allow you to take a break from work for a few moments in the "Relaxation mode". Forismatic's first purpose, to inspire you, is carried out well by the little app. You can and then share it with Twitter or Facebook or copy it to your clipboard. There's also an "about the author" button. The inspiration function will use the whole screen as a slightly transparent overlay, but "Spark of an idea" will just provide a popup from the menu bar.
If you head into Relaxation mode, Forismatic will try to get you to read the quotes for a good three to seven minutes while taking a break from work. It'll tell you how long you relaxed for and allow you to Tweet the result, which might earn you some bragging rights around the Internet.
As a writer, I've found this app to be very helpful and well-developed. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs to boost their productivity.
If you're looking for even more inspiring quotes, consider purchasing the $1.99 New Quotes Collection 2011, an in-app purchase.
