Jonathan Geller, writing for his very own Boy Genius Report:

The phone is too big. You will look stupid talking on it, people will laugh at you, and you’ll be unhappy if you buy it. I really can’t get around this, unfortunately, because Samsung pushed things way too far this time.
First, let's make one thing clear: I've never used the device. However, in the light of the opinions on the device that I've seen lately, I don't even want to. I completely agree with Geller's points in this article. The phone is ridiculously large and doesn't need to be. I'm surprised it can even fit into the pocket of the average person.

Maybe Samsung's original idea was that the device would somehow conquer the iPhone with its gargantuan proportions, though this is not going to work. All this doesn't even make any sense. First, everyone was in the race to out the thinnest notebook computer and now they're all trying doing the opposite with smartphones, save for Apple. I just can't comprehend this nonsense. Maybe they think that, with all the high-definition content available on the Internet today, mobile devices must be larger to play it back. This reasoning is just plain stupid. If I wanted a higher-definiton display to watch films on, then I'd buy a tablet. I don't want to convey a mobile phone with a 5.3-inch display just to watch movies -- that defeats the purpose and also doesn't accord with the definition of "mobile".

So, go ahead with your little masquerade Samsung. Keep trying to sway customers with your risible device and see where it takes you. But, if you want some advice, then here it is: it will lead you nowhere, so give up now.
