[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ou may have noticed that the abridged posts I used to feature on here are gone. I've deleted the most recent ones so that there are none on the main page. My original plan for Papermail was to give an opinion on all the major topics of the day using a Daring Fireball-styled linked list. After some thought on the matter, I've decided that's not what it's going to be. As I'm the only writer here, I decided that I should report things, not just repost them. Every other "linkblog" out there quotes a portion of text from the source, provides a link to read the whole thing, and gives an opinion on the matter. Some go so far as giving three to four words of commentary. I'm no longer going to do this because that's not how any blog should work -- that's what social networks are for.
I'm sorry if you don't want to read this kind of content, but it's all I'll be providing. I'm going to report news, review products, and write out my opinion on something in the best way I can. Length is not a pressing issue and articles can range from one paragraph to a few thousand words. That's all Papermail will be. I'm not promising that you'll love it, just asking that you understand things before you start wondering why the style has changed. There will still be no categories, tags, or comments not because I won't listen to your opinion, but because I want focus to remain on content. You can still email me as usual with any questions or suggestions that you have. I'm open to a spirited discussion on anything I write about here. If there's something else you want to talk about, hopefully I can help.
Just so you know, I'm not an overly-opinionated fool and do not wish to come off as such. I hope you understand that I make these kinds of decisions because I think people deserve better. There are times when I don't agree with the reader and those are bound to happen at some point or another. If you have a problem with something though, don't think twice about telling me. I'm not the kind of person who doesn't listen to what other people have to say and I want to know if there's a problem with my readership. Don't think for one moment that I don't care what you think just because of the way I convey a thought; it could be the opposite.
That's all. Enjoy your afternoon and Papermail.
