Last week, I browsed NoiseTrade in the usual fashion: listen enough to understand what the artist is trying to accomplish, then either agree with it and download or close the tab and begin another album. I typically don't discover a lot of truly inspiring new music, but during that listening session, I happened upon Prince of Spain, which, from what I can tell (I tried to research this as much as possible) is a solo project. With that in mind, this guy is knows how to maintain a unique and heartening sound unlike anything I've ever heard before.

My recent discovery of The Paper Kites marked one of the more exciting artists I've discovered lately (see also Kishi Bashi, Sleeping At Last, and Rival Summers). Prince of Spain has managed to trump that with his pleasant, easy-listening tone and diverse style. Right now he has three singles: "Rising Sun", "Find Love", and "Away We Go". They're all fantastic, "Rising Sun" being my personal favorite.

NoiseTrade says Prince of Spain is for fans of The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, The Shins, Mumford & Sons, which I can completely agree with. He's a bit different than all of these, though. He sets his own distinct sound and manages to keep it up through all three of his current songs. After looking around the artist's website, I'm assuming that Prince of Spain's first album will be named His Majesty. This could just be his tagline for the Tumblr page, but I think it's actually going to be his debut.

If you'd like to download "Rising Sun" and "Find Love" for free, head to the Prince of Spain page on NoiseTrade. I recommend tipping the artist for his hard work — whatever you feel is appropriate.
