According to CNET's sources, Verizon Wireless will finally be getting some contemporary Windows Phone devices in the fourth quarter of this year. Roger Cheng of the tech news Web site spoke with Verizon Wireless' CMO, Tami Erwin, about the matter and she told him that the carrier will be selling "multiple Windows Phones in the fourth quarter". Whether those are going to be the new Lumia 920 and such is unclear, but Erwin assures that the carrier "continue[s] to have healthy conversations with Nokia", hinting that it's feasible.

As a Verizon Wireless customer, I'd be glad to see Windows Phone make a second — and hopefully better — debut on the carrier. Right now, there's only one phone available (HTC's Trophy) and while it did cross my mind back in May when I was getting a new mobile phone, the iPhone 4S seemed more appealing. The Trophy doesn't just possess an outdated version of the Windows Phone operating system, it falls short on the hardware as well. Being the flagship Windows Phone on Verizon, the Trophy makes the carrier look like it doesn't even support the operating system at all. It's quite pandemonium and, unfortunately, there will likely be no closure until later there yet.
